Adding your Canvas calendar to your Google calendar has the benefit of setting up pop-up notifications on your computer for events such as conferences.
To enable this feature, we must ensure that Google Calendar is set up to send notifications.
To do this, we need to check Google Calendar Site Settings.
Change Site Settings
Head to https://calendar.google.com/
Click the Lock in the URL Bar at the top of the page.
3. Click on "Site Setting"
4. Make sure "Notifications" are set to "Allow".
To change this, click the dropdown arrow and select "Ask", "Allow", or "Block".
We need to have it set to "Allow".
5. Close the Site settings.
Add Canvas Calendar to Google Calendar
1. Access your Canvas Calendar
2. On the right-hand side, click "Calendar Feed".
3. Select and Copy the URL provided in the pop-up box.
To select all, push Command + A or right-click/two-finger click and choose Select All.
To Copy, push Command + C on or right-click/two-finger click and choose Copy
4. Go to your Google Calendar. https://calendar.google.com/
5. On the right-hand side, scroll down and click the plus nextt to "Other Calendar"
6. Select "From URL".
7. Paste the Canvas Feed URL into the box
To Paste, push Command + V on or right-click/two-finger click and choose Paste
8. Click Add Calendar
After a second, a calendar will appear through the "Other Calendar Setting" on the right-hand side.
9. Select the new imported calendar from "Setting For Other Calendars"
It will look like this "FirstName LastName Calendar (Canvas)".
10. Scroll down to "Event notifications"
11. Select "Add notification".
12. Enter how long you would like to be notified before an event in your canvas calendar.
You can set multiple notations or emails.
Choose between Notification or Email
Choose the duration options are Minutes, Hours, Days or Weeks.
